This article characterizes the authors’ perspective on the nature and structure of politicalliteracy among university students. The authors present the axiological, cognitive, activity-based(behavioral), and reflexive components of the theoretical model of political literacy in the contextof the specifics of civic education for young people in China. The article describes the functionalrole of each component and substantiates the connection between them in the holistic structure ofpolitical literacy as a theoretical phenomenon.
